Kyrian is a curious and rambunctious eight year old little boy, very much his father's son. By appearances he could pass as elvish with those elongated pointed ears, but his soft fluffy young wings desire an explanation to strangers. He has never known his real mother, who was rumored to be an Eternal being. Due to the destruction and war of his world, he became separated from his family at four years of age for a very long time, during which he strangely did not grow older while being looked after by a self appointed guardian named Naime. No one but Kyrian really knows anything about Naime, only that she helped him find his family again.

Itarilde is a very dainty and beautiful faery creature. She is smaller than what a five year old human child would be..nearly by half. Despite this, she has the intelligence and mind of a young woman, but all the child-like playfulness of her little faery soul. She protects a huge personal secret. One that her family has fought to protect her over, even if it meant putting themselves in harms way or up against a terrible foe.

Together, Kyrian and Itarilde are the best of friends. Ita might share in the blame for Kyrian's antics and Kyrian often finds himself the object of one of Ita's faery pranks. Either way, there is always a silly game going on!

Not only were the others in on each others games and pranks, but they loved doing all sorts of things together. Playing in the shallows of the stream when weather permitted, working and playing in the gardens, goofing off in the stables or helping Joshy and Dad with the horses. Each had their chores, but there was always time for play. Now that Mythras was able to walk and talk some, he too joined in on the fun.

It was winter now, but Ita could 'feel' Spring coming. How was this possible? Fae were deeply connected to the natural world, just as deeply as they were connected to the Faerie Realm and the Reverie. She could feel the pulse of the earth and of magic within her entire soul. Animals gravitated to her and the world seemed willing to do almost anything she asked of it, which wasn't much yet, just to be pretty. The children were outside now, all of them. Each were bundled up in their winter gear, but each one was having fun.

They were building a snow fort, snow people, snow angels, and doing anything they could with the snow! Josh and Dad had even made ice sculptures to decorate the lawn. There was a large swan, a dragon, even a fairy. The valley was a picture-esque place, and Ita was thrilled to live in such a wondrous place of beauty. Their neighbor, Sir Sourpuss the Cyclops, was a grouch, but she cared not. Without warning, a snowball struck her and she squealed, turning to see Rook and Kyrian laughing.

ZOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!! Off the faery child flew, dust sparkling all over the snow and in the air; wings beating furiously as she flew after them. "OHHHhhh...you get back here! I'm coming for you! You're gonna pay for that!" she declared. Whatever would she do them? Diving down, she scooped some snow into her hands and formed a couple small snowballs, then zipped around a tree after them. They were running from her, but the snowballs were tossed at them, though never hard enough to hurt them. A glorious, boisterous snowball battle had started. All the kids were suddenly darting, ducking, hiding, and throwing snowballs at one another.

Even the dogs were in on the action, racing after the kids. Barks, yips, and whines filled the air coupled with the laughter of the children. One might think it was a madhouse around the villa, but when there was children awake, expect noise! Especially LOTS AND LOTS of giggling and laughter! The most musical of all was that of a dainty faery girl, whose laughter sounded like bells, chimes, and dewdrops falling on harp strings. Whatever would the others do?! It was a faery bombardment!

Kyrian rallied Rook and Mythras together, teaching them battle tactics against flying enemy- the snow ball dive bomber fae Ita! It seemed to come instinctively to Kyrian how to form both a defense and a plan of return fire.

Leaping into hollowed out dead tree stump he hid with Rook and Mythras and began to make their arsenal of packed snow balls in different sizes depending on whose little hands they were fashioned with. Kyrian took the look-out at the top, and when he called incoming they all ducked until the rain of snow balls subsides. At the most opportune moment he yelled FIRE! A barrage of snow balls were flung up as many as six hands could throw at the giggling faery dive bomber. Most, being poorly aimed missed their mark. It was hard to hit a moving target. Kyrian might of started this war, but he had a sinking feeling Ita was going to finish it....

How could he keep Rook and Mythras from being lured by Ita's charms to the enemy's side? She probably has cookies....Ita always had SOMETHING sweet on her. Would Kyrian end up being left alone by a bunch of cookie-lovin DESERTers? He contemplated the idea of giving up before the tiny little girl made him look bad.

Like any good Nanny, Lin was not very far away. Her sliver eyes watched the children as they played. She would sit on a snow covered log wrapped tightly in her green bear furs. Often she would be reading or making something or another., but her eyes never left the children. At times she would haul them all inside for lunch, or when it got to late and started to get to cold for them to be out. Other then that she injoyed the outside much as the children did.

She herself longed for spring, for the trees and ground to turn green once more. For the flowers to burst from the ground in all their colorful beauty. Till then she toyed with the pink flowers in her long silver hair that never seemed to die. She watched the children grow, as they all did. She watched the days grow longer and the sun get brighter. For now, all she did was watch, and wonder.

What had turned out to be a fun children's game had turned into a disaster! Even with their nanny Lin on duty he had managed to scare the other children, make them cry, and get himself punished. He also owed the snitch who told Gramma a huge thank you. Rook.

Kyrian ducked down in the hollowed out tree once again with Mythras and Rook, hiding from the onslaught of Ita's faery wrath. He was pretty sure he was about to be in trouble for being an instigator....

Rook and the others were hiding and she was giggling the whole time. Her arms were full of snowballs and she dropped about four as she dodged some of the ones thrown at her, but she was hit a few times. Darting around behind a tree, she volleyed a snowball lightly at Rook, even gentler at Mythras, then flung one at Kyrian, grinning mischievously. Anyone walking by was likely pelted as well.

The snow balls dropped down, hitting thier marks. The tree had proven an insufficient fortress. He yelled run, and the lot of them scattered in three directions, leaving the littlest of them all crying for help...Kyrian froze in his tracks and doubled back to grasp Rook by the hand and run in the direction Mythras was heading. To get there faster, he swooped up Rook and tucked her under his arm like a football. "Head for the shed!" Now they were not allowed in the shed for millions of reasons....A moment later the door swung open and all three scampered in squealing and laughing all the way hahhaha. The latch fell into place behind them and suddenly they were in the dark, in a very scary place. Or it would seem so for little children. Heads of animals and skins laid out on tables...uh oh. Kyrian found himself unable to get the latch up to let them out. "IIIIIIIIIIIIIIITAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Itarilde saw where they were heading, she squealed in delighted laughter. "Here I coooooooommmmmeeeee! Ready or not!" And with a flourish of wings, she was in pursuit. Just short of the door, she pulled up as she heard the latch click. She thought they would be coming out after she called them a few times, but Kyrian sounded really scared. "Kyrian, I'm here! What's wrong!" Dropping down, she tried to open the door, but it wouldn't budge! "I can't get the door open!" Yanked and tugged on the door, using her wings to make herself fly backwards while she pulled on the door. Naturally Faery dust flew everywhere during the whole charade. She was growing scared and worried. "What happened?!"

Kyrian's screaming began to upset the two younger ones, and once they saw the frightening eyes looking at them and the mouths full of teeth exposed their little imaginations got the best of them. Kyrian was helpless to comfort his younger uncle and cousin. "Ita the latch is stuck it won't open...I- Mythras and Rook are scared! Help open the door! Please? I promise not to throw anymore snow balls at you!" Kyrian pleaded and tried to not cry too. He ran to the other end of the shed, being brave as he passed all sorts of strange things. "Their not gonna get me, not gonna get me" he told himself. He tried to open a window but they were sealed shut for the winter.

Itarilde saw everyone was scared and she had to get them out. The latch was stuck and she knew the windows were all closed up in the winter. "I'll get you out!" she promised. She wasn't big enough to kick open the door, so she decided to try something. She's never used her dust before and she wasn't even sure what to do with the stuff really. A fae in human form..she was much too big to slip through the keyhole, or any cracks. Of course, she's never tried shifting her size at all or doing any magic at all. Not many knew of the secret she harbored. Heck, she's spoken to Bansca the moment she had laid eyes on him, and he had been stunned and she had captured his heart instantly. Separating Ita from -HER- daddy was impossible. The two shared a bond like no other. She was that with all of those she loved, they were -HER- family. All the animals too. A phase? Hardly. This sweet little girl loved everyone and everything. Save two. Pulling back from the door, she threw a fistful of 'dust' on the door and hovered there wishing it would open. Would it?

Kyrian by now was back at the front door, desperately standing there wishing the door to open as if by magic. He saw the doors obey his gramma and grampa B! They children heard Ita try to assure them she would get them out. He felt a little better then. And the little ones stopped crying but clung to Ky like a safety line. "It will be okays, Ita will help." When the faery dust sprayed through the cracks in the door, they like to all start sneezing. This wasn't the time for faery dust!! But oddly enough, when the dust slipped into the latch, it slid open and the door swung open...resulting in all three children falling out onto the ground!

Itarilde The others all fell out on the ground and she touched down to take Mythras and Rook into her arms first to help quiet them. "It's ok..Ita's here." she whispered. Violet and golden eyes turned on Kyrian as she smiled and waited for him to get to his feet before she pulled him into the hug as well. Rook and Mythras soon ran to the house and she was left there with Kyrian. Upon opening her eyes, she shrieked at seeing so many animals, thier empty eyes staring back at her. Her eyes widened as she stepped back, only to stop and become frozen in place, tears welling her eyes as she stared in horror at the grisly visages of the once living creatures. Her wings had drooped and barely twitched now as her gaze stayed riveted on the dead eyes of some poor creature, a deer. It's tongue lolled out and everything.

It just doesn't register to children where their clothing, shoes, coats and furniture fabric came from...among a many other things. "We got to tell Grampa B there's dead animals in there." He said with wild and frightened eyes. He grabbed Ita and hugged her, "But I don't want to get in trouble for bein in there. We're not allowed." He bit his lower lip with his new dilemma. He saw the look on Ita's face, she had turned more pale and horrified. He shut the door quickly and turned her away. "Lets go." Taking her hand he led her away, "How did you do that Ita? Get the door open?"

Kyrian led Ita away, and her legs felt like jelly. Without even thinking, she leaned against him. He'd feel her trembling, but she couldn't help it. She hadn't been scared since that day she saw ThakRa. What he had done to her Daddy, she didn't know in depth, but he was literally barely able to hold her. Through his agony she saw and felt the love within him. She was too shocked to speak, even if she was glad for a subject change. "I...I wished it open." As if that would explain it!

Kyrian He looked at her curiously and was thinking heck I was wishing it open too! "No really Ita, how did you open it?" He noticed she was obviously more upset than he was. He felt really guilty now. If he hadn't of ran into the shed Ita wouldn't be so upset. He picked her up then and carried her in his own little arms, not even bothered by those dusty limp wings in his face. "Please don't be upset Ita. Uncle Joshua is gonna spank me for get'in in the shed" he mumbled.

"Not if we don't tell him" Ita explained. But everyone will wonder what the commotion was about and they couldn't fib. If they fibbed, they'd be in trouble. "Joshy has a nose better than us, he'll know. Plus my dust is everywhere!" She looked panicked now, and when he picked her up, she wrapped her arms around his neck. "Ky...I don't wanna be in trouble." she whispered. "I told you..I wished it open. Honest."

Kyrian By now it was certain that Rook had told her daddy everything, and Mythras had done enough crying to make it true. When Joshua saw all the faery dust they would both be in trouble. It was a huge mess. How did a snowball fight turn into what was sure to be a punishment!? He tried not to cry, so he sucked up his bottom lips and whispered to Ita "I believe you. " He thought it was really neat, "can you wish us not get in trouble?? I'll wish too" Children were so cute. He was walking awkwardly up the path that led to the back door, just waiting for the sight of an adult's face.

Itarilde Smiled and hugged him since she was being held. "You can set me down." If he did, she'd still lean against him. "Want me to show you? Find something locked..I'll open it up." With him facing the door, she couldn't see if anyone was coming out, so she relied on her hearing. "I don't know if I could wish that to come true, but I'm wishing it, very hard." she murmured.

Kyrian The back door opened before he could find something locked. He wished the back door had stayed locked. He put her down quickly, not wanting to look as if he was guilty of anything. He heard their names be called from inside the kitchen, likey by Joshua. Sometimes he could not tell between Joshy's and Grampa B's. Was he even home? He never knew who was home or who wasn't...but Joshy seemed to always be there. People were always coming and going. He gulped "we better go in." He saw a flash of Rook's face. That little girl was odd...and she didn't eat and drink like the rest!

Itarilde knew that was Josh and Rook's secret...which he has struggled with keeping from the other children. Joshua sensed that the kids knew something was different about it, but his parents alone knew the gory truth. "Uh oh.." Biting her lower lip, she glanced to Rook. "Did you tattle?" she muttered. She wasn't sure what to make of Rook sometimes. Settling her delicate wings along her back, she trudged up the steps, eyes downcast as she entered the kitchen.

Kyrian nudged Ita "I bet she did, she was really crying and so was Myrthas." He sighed and shut his mouth once he was in the door. He heard it close behind him and it felt as if his doom were being sealed. He cringed a bit and focused his eyes to the soft inside light. He began to shed his coat and snowy boots there at the back door. He looked quite pitiful, cheeks red and rosy from being bitten by cold bugs! He saw Rook and Myrthas at the table already set up with a mug of something steamy and undoubtedly sweet. "mmm can I have some too?" Kyrians stomach helped distract him from being in trouble.

Itarilde Nodded and kept quiet. Removed her own coat and gloves, snowy boots and then walked over to Mythras, hugging him again. "Sissy's sorry." she whispered. Glanced up, wondering who all had shown for the 'interrogation'. Frowned and started playing with a lock of her hair, toe scuffling against the floor. Fae just knew when they were in trouble...the 'energy' always shifted when someone wasn't happy and it made her feel sad.

Kyrian copied Ita, figuring it the best thing to do. He apologized to Rook and Mythras, but moreso to Mythras because he felt like Rook had been the snitch. He climbed up into a kitchen chair as Sorvy walked in without her usual happy gramma face. "Cold children want something warm to drink?" Sorvy helped Ita into a seat next to Kyrian as she served them hot chocolate made with milk and spiced with peppermint. "So, Rook said she saw monsters in the shed. Mythras isn't talking but he was crying as well. Either of yew wish to tell momma what happened? Why you were...'trapped' in the shed when yew know Papa B and Joshy told yew all not to ever go in there?"

Itarilde Had apologized to Mythras first, then lastly Rook. Before the others could speak up, she did. "We were having a snowball fight and they were running from me. They wound up in the shed with the....the animals and the latch fell. They couldn't get out, so I got them out." She didn't touch her hot cocoa, she stared at the table.

Kyrian couldn't let Ita do all the explaining and take blame. "It was all my fault. I ran us into the shed. We were playing and I forgot about the shed rule. We were all really scared. Ita saved us. I never meant for everyone to cry." He suddenly lost his thirst and put his hands in his lap and stared at them. "What happened to those....animals." Sorvynia couldn't be very upset at them. It seemed their own mistakes had bit them back already. "Those animals are not alive anymore children. We need to use their skins and fur and meat to survive." It dawned on him then how many of the things in their home and the food they ate were....once those animals. To a child that is quite horrifying. He began to cry "I'm never eating meat again!" Growing up isn't easy for a little kid. Sorvynia watched as the youngest looked confused but knew Ita and Kyrian were going to be the most upset by it. " Kyrian yew will do Ita's chores and yer own and yew are not to play outside for the next three days. Yew will tell yer grampa B what happened. As fer the rest of yew little ones, never go into that shed again."

Itarilde Wouldn't be surprised if Rook were amused by all of this now that she wasn't scared. Sorta just stared at Kyrian and then dropped her head again, fingers clutching her mug, she then looked up again, eyes welling with tears. "It wasn't all his fault...I was flying and chasing everyone! And tossing snowballs. The latch fell!" she exclaimed. "I wished 'em out! A-a-nd the door opened. I didn't touch it!" Oh no...they had to tell Daddy!

Kyrian A non magical creature would of not believed Ita's story...but Sorvy wasn't and did believe Ita. Ita was a fae after all. "Thank yew for helping the children get out of the shed Ita. I understand. But Kyrian still made the choice to go in, and he led the younglings in too. He should of known better. If he doesn't then he isn't old enough to have his big boy privileges. He and Rook and Mythras could of gotten hurt. I realize the latch fell on its own but if he hadn't of gone in they wouldn't of been trapped." Kyrian sighed, he looked up to Ita who was trying to bail him out. It was useless. "Ita's dust made the latch open. I saw it. She was wishing it open and I was too." Not that it seemed wished helped him any in this case.

Sorvynia turned back to Ita and leaned down to cup her tiny chin in her fingers. "Yew miss Ita, are going to tell yer Papa what yew did with yer dust. He will be very interesting in hearing this. " Sorvynia didn't praise Ita in front of Kyrian and the others, because that would be cruel while Kyrian is being punished and the other two younger ones were taking everything in.

Itarilde Reached over and grabbed Kyrian's hand, squeezing it. She had tried! "Will Papa be mad?" she whispered, fearing he would. Him and Josh were sure to be upset at first. Looking into Sorvy's eyes, she knew she couldn't get away with it. "Okay.." came a very quiet, definitely shy reply. Sighed and sipped at her cocoa. She'd have to make things interesting inside for Kyrian! "If he does my chores...whose chores do I get?"

Kyrian Kyrian looked at Ita's hand and smiled. That faery was the best friend a boy could ever ask for! Sorvy looked at her faery child with a secret in her eyes. "I think yer Papa will be having yew do special chores, don't think yer going to just get to play little girl." She tapped Ita's nose and wiped Rook and Myrthra's faces off that were all chocolaty now. Kyrian decided to drink his before it got cold. He wondered now what his grampa or Joshy was gonna do to him..or if they would add to his punishment..or worse yet get a whoopin! "Is B and Joshy gonna whoop me?" Sorvy looked at him and tilted her head some. "I don't think so." She raised her brows at him and gave him that strange your still in trouble but I love you anyway smile.

"Noooooo...they can't whoops yew! If they do, then I should be whooped tew! I ruined the door!" she insisted. At least she thinks so. The lock had to be full of dust! Nose tapped, she smiled and drank her cocoa before it could go cold. "Special chores?" What sort of chores were special? "Mama..what does yew mean by special chores?" She still held Kyrian's hand for a long few minutes before finally letting go.

The pair were the bestest of friends and she hoped to never lose the bond they shared. She didn't know what to make of Rook for tattling, but she was sure that Joshy would teach her it wasn't nice to tattle. Once through with her cocoa, she slid the mug back and then leaned over and hugged Mythras. "Sissy sorreh for scaring yews." she whispered. Would make it up to the others somehow. "May I be excused? I gotta go find Papa." He was probably outside somewhere or in his study. "Have yew seen him?" she thought to ask.

Bansca was sure to be quite surprised, then go through a range of emotions once he understood what she had done. "Has he eaten lunch yet? If not, I can take it tew him!" she offered. "Joshy's tew!" She felt bad that Kyrian was in trouble, but she had to stay inside too and that meant she'd be forced to find inside entertainments. That wouldn't be hard! There were games galore to play inside.
