The best part about living forever is you have the time to learn from your mistakes. Now that Gethe's weakness was known to the arraki Soul he had to adapt. His great intelligence determined he needed a bodyguard that wasn't vulnerable to the cursed light. The demon decided to create a weapon for lesser beings' hands, since they were all just puppets to his will anyway. In the realm of Nirdor the forging took place.
First, he hunted down a demon whom held sway over war. The weakling thought he was moving on to another dimension to sow destruction. The fool had ruined the realm he was in, leaving it blackened and barren. Night had fallen leaving Gethe at his peak, while the war demon that called himself Vaez had recently fed on the final conflict in the unknown realm. No thinking creature that understood what warfare was remained. The demon of darkness wasn't foolish enough to attack a creature that would demolish him in seconds in a straight fight. Thankfully he was in his element, the night cloaked his presence. Some cocky beings might announce their plans before attacking but, Gethe was no idiot.
The dark one grew into a fifty foot tall monstrosity, because the war beast had already done the same. Vaez had displayed all his power at once proving he had no understanding of subtlety. Darkness took shape as hundreds of dense tentacles struck at once. The grappled enemy was defeated in minutes as his essence was drained away. Screams of inhuman pain ripped thru the area, as the war demon became something else. "Vaez your new purpose will be to serve a greater will, in a form of my choosing."
A double edged ebony blade that stood five feet tall from hilt to tip was held in Gethe's hands seconds later. He made sure to destroy what remained of Vaez's will. A portal opened that led to Nirdor once more, the next stages took place there. One hundred innocents after suffering numerous tortures were killed at the peak of their pain, with Vaez's sharp edge. This gave the weapon a mental marker that appealed to Gethe. He watched as the two-handed sword drained gallon after gallon of pure blood and laughed. "This is what a weapon should be."
Gethe dubbed the blade Reaver, since it wouldn't due to announce its' true name in battle. As a result, only the dark god knew it giving him total control of the abyssal sword. Now he needed to find someone to wield it. A sinister smile crossed his face, as he thought of whom the best choice among the thousands of warrior's available to him was. Soon he would return to his base in Heruin but, first he needed to prepare some things. "Atisha come here, we have work to do." Spine chilling laughter echoed thru his palace as Gethe's mind thought on the possibilities before him.
